Marietta Pennsylvania is part of Lancaster County, PA. With a population
of just over two thousand this small Eastern town has a lot to offer
you. It is located near the Susquehanna River and surrounded by
history since its incorporation in 1812.
Things to do in Marietta
PA: The whole town is a tourist attraction.
43% of the area is part of the National Register of Historic Places.
There are three parks that for exploring when you visit and live
there. A must see is the county park with a hiking trail that will
give you great views of the Susquehanna River. You can view historic
homes, both Victorian and colonial. Four of these homes have been
restored for the public to use. The old bank and town hall are also
sites to see.
Marietta PA Dining:
Restaurants of all sorts can be found in the town. You can eat to
your heart's desire in locations from fine and casual dining, to
a deli and taverns. They are all within walking distance. There
are even snack bars within the parks so you don't have to head back
inside to eat.
There are plenty of things to do but if you are looking for specific
events you have a few options. Marietta day occurs on the third
Saturday of every May. They hold the regular 4th of July celebrations
with a carnival followed by fireworks. You can also visit during
their candlelight tour the first Sunday in December or their pig
iron fest during the last Sunday of September.
